Radio frequency (RF), non-ionizing radiation intensity is rising at an alarming rate as wireless networks are rolled out to download and stream ever more data. WiFi has gone mainstream in schools, leaving the vulnerable behind. Computers are running at faster speeds and produce much higher levels of EMF, reeking havoc on those who are sensitive. Newer model cars employ more electronic gadgets, and power lines are producing stronger magnetic fields as usage increases. To make things worse, compact fluorescent light bulbs, which produce high amounts of EMF and dirty electricity, have become popular, while wireless "smart meters" are being installed by power companies against peoples will and making many sick, and unable to inhabit their own homes.
It has been estimated that a sub-group consisting of 3% of the population suffers from EHS. The right to pursuit of happiness is being stripped from people who are EMF refugees. Yet the mainstream medical community in the U.S. is oblivious to the condition, putting those that suffer in a very lonely place.
Those few authoritative institutions that are aware of EHS, including the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the WHO, and IEEE at best, cautiously deny a link between weak electromagnetic exposure - from cellular antennas, power lines, cell phones, computers (particularly visual display units), fluorescent lighting, TVs, cars, appliances, etc. - and a myriad of ill symptoms. Yet the Russians knew of "Radio Wave sickness" as far back as the 1940s!
Once a person becomes sensitized to electromagnetism - whether triggered from chemicals, heavy metals, electromagnetism, or their combination - the symptoms are manifested by very weak electromagnetic fields (EMF), in fact, much, much weaker than most would fathom possible - (many are sensitive to fields thousands times less than the limits allowed by governments). Therein lies ammunition for the skeptics, whose only convenient explanation is a psychosomatic or delusional phenomenon.
Symptoms vary widely among individuals, and in many cases are debilitating. They include: skin irritation, rashes, tingling sensations, chronic fatigue, nausea, dizziness, headaches, burning sensation in the head, chest pains, irregular heart rhythm, tinnitus, and others. These symptoms are unspecific, meaning they can be caused by various stimuli, thus making EHS all the more elusive.
